Introduction

Loss, Grief and Bereavement

Everything changes when you lose someone you love. The sorrow you feel about the death of a loved one is known as grief. With everyone experiencing loss differently, there is no right or wrong way to grieve. Some days can be filled with sadness, anger, confusion, regret, yearning, and even relief. You may notice your body reacting to grief as well. Sometimes it can be hard to fall asleep, while other times it may seem impossible to get up. Having headaches, nausea, tiredness, and changes in appetite can all be a part of grief.

Grief impacts our thinking. Focusing, making decisions, or remembering responsibilities can be difficult. You might see yourself distancing from your loved ones or questioning your beliefs about life.

May the sun bring you energy every day, bringing light into the darkness of your soul.

May the moon softly restore you by light bathing you in the glow of restful sleep and peaceful dreams.

May the rain wash away your worries and cleanse the hurt that sits in your heart.

May the breeze blow new strength into your being, and may you believe in the courage of yourself.

May you walk gently through the world, keeping your loved one with you always, knowing that you are never parted in the beating of your heart.
