The Vocational Rehabilitation service at the NIH Clinical Center collaborates with, and supports the research of, the NIH institutes or centers.

An example of the Vocational Rehabilitation ongoing research is:

  • Natural history study of pediatric HIV in the highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) era

This study follows the natural disease process of children with HIV. Vocational Rehabilitation evaluates the impact of HIV and its treatment on young adult’s vocational maturity; vocational preparedness, work values and motivation to pursue educational/vocational plans.
