Do You Know Someone Battling Cancer or a Tumor?
Join a novel research study by Dr. Gulley and his team at the National Cancer Institute (NCI) in their effort to measure pain through facial expressions and vocal communication.
To Participate, You Must:
- Be age 12 years or older (parental permission is required for minors)
- Be diagnosed with cancer or a progressive tumor and be receiving standard therapy or investigational treatment for it
- Not have conditions that affect voice or facial muscle movements
You will have:
- Up to three at home video check-ins per week for three months
- As few as one (1) or up to four (4) in-clinic check-ins at the NIH Clinical Center
- To use a smartphone or a computer to take selfie videos to report pain using an app
- Compensation of up to $225 provided upon completion of the study
- Reimbursement for travel and accommodation up to $120/night
