Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19 or SARS-CoV-2) is a serious health problem. Researchers at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) want to find biomarkers in people with COVID-19 and understand how these markers may influence the severity of symptoms. This information will help to develop better therapies for COVID-19.
Who can join?
Anyone located in the United States who has tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 infection may be eligible to join. We will use the clinical history and biological samples provided by participants for our analyses.
What is involved in the study?
If you join this study, we will:
- Ask you to donate a blood or saliva sample
- Ask you to fill out a brief health questionnaire either by phone or online
- Contact you one time up to a year after your enrollment to complete a follow-up survey about your ongoing experience with COVID-19 symptoms
- Offer compensation for completing the blood or saliva sample and brief health questionnaire
