Blood type needs change daily. If you are not sure of your next eligible donation date, please call the NIH Blood Bank at (301) 496-1048.
Walk-in donors are welcome Monday through Friday from 7:30am - 4:30pm.

Getting Here (Travel and Parking)
Detailed information is available regarding public transportation, street maps, parking, and security for your trip to the NIH Blood Bank.
Getting Onto Campus
All visitors, including patients, contractors, vendors, and delivery persons, are required to use specified entrances. Please see the Clinical Center (CC) visitor information regarding authorized visitor entrances.
NOTICE: There are new security measures in place on the NIH campus. More information can be found at: http://www.nih.gov/about/visitorsecurity.htm.
There are parking spaces designated for donors in the MLP-9 parking garage close to the NIH Blood Bank. Two (2) hours are allowed for blood donation and up to four (4) hours for apheresis donation.
How to Locate the NIH Blood Bank Once Inside the CC
The NIH Blood Bank is located at the far west end of the North Corridor in what is known as the 'Old Building 10.' Look for the Transfusion Medicine Department.
