Biosketch

Donovan Kuehn is the Acting Chief of the Office of Communications and Media Relations at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Clinical Center - the world’s largest hospital devoted exclusively to clinical research. Since joining the Clinical Center team in 2014, he has played a key role in creating content that is impactful, memorable and demonstrates the value of Americans’ investment in research.

Kuehn is an accomplished communications professional with over 20 years of experience leading strategic communications, public affairs and patient recruitment in the healthcare and nonprofit sectors. He has proven leadership at the Clinical Center in managing cross-functional teams, producing high-profile publications and digital content, overseeing contracts and managing multimillion-dollar budgets.

He has demonstrated success in executing mission-critical projects such as implementing Clinical Center TV for hospital communications, logistics management with the First in Human Discovery TV project, the full redevelopment of the Clinical Center’s website and leading dozens of tours for the hospital’s outreach program. An experienced spokesperson and writer with over 200 published articles, he has earned multiple federal honors.

Kuehn has a Bachelor of Arts in Geography and a Bachelor of Commerce in Entrepreneurial Management.
