Fx-5A was specifically designed to remove excess cholesterol in artery walls. Models have shown that Fx-5A can minimize inflammation associated with diseases like asthma, colitis and chronic kidney disease. This study will evaluate how well you tolerate a single dose of Fx-5A when given through an IV and how safe it is to use in healthy individuals.

Study Design

This study requires four (4) visits to the NIH Clinical Center including

  • An initial screening visit
  • A two day inpatient stay (one overnight stay)
  • Two follow-up visits

You Can Participate if You

  • Are age 18 or older
  • Are generally healthy
  • Are not pregnant or planning to become pregnant during the course of the study
  • Have a BMI less than or equal to 30. Calculate your BMI
