Every December the Clinical Center’s CEO publicly recognizes the extraordinary work performed in the hospital and this year was no different. On Dec. 18, the Clinical Center staff gathered to celebrate the incredible work being done daily that ensures the best possible patient outcomes and cutting-edge research.
This year, 180 awards were presented, honoring 84 individuals and 96 groups representing 861 group members. Awardees were celebrated for their commitment to outstanding patient care, innovative research support, and the daily teamwork that enables the Clinical Center’s mission. During the ceremony Clinical Center CEO, Pius Aiyelawo stressed that at the heart of everything we do at the Clinical Center is excellence - excellence in clinical practice, in scientific inquiry and in the caring and compassion we extend to all patient partners, research participants, and their families, in support of clinical research activities.
Aiyelawo highlighted several themes at the ceremony that he believes defined who we are as a Clinical Center community and guided the work that occurs in the Clinical Center every day. Highlights included: collaboration, resilience, innovation, excellence, and the many contributions that make our institution stronger.
This year’s awards recognized accomplishments in Administration; Customer Service; Innovation; Making an Impact; Patient Care; Patient Safety Champion; Quality of Work-Life and Well-Being; Rising Star; Science; Super Supervisor and Teaching/Mentoring.
