NHLBI Would Like To Talk to You About Participating in an Observational Research Study at the NIH Clinical Center
Researchers at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) in Bethesda, Maryland, are conducting an observational research study to determine how chronic inflammation caused by psoriasis effects blood flow to the heart. This study aims to determine if the heart's blood flow and function is improved with biologic treatment for psoriasis.
This study will provide a comprehensive evaluation by looking at blood flow, structure and function of the heart at the NIH Clinical Center.
Study Involves
- A review of your medical history to determine eligibility for the study
- Psoriasis treatment using a biologic therapy
- An in-depth evaluation of blood flow, structure, and function of the heart to include an echocardiography (ECG), a PET/CT perfusion, and a cardiac MRI
- Blood samples at baseline, 1 year after starting biologic treatment
You May be Eligible If You Are
- 18-90 years of age
- Diagnosed with moderate to severe psoriasis
Compensation will be provided to study participants. A physician referral is not required to participate.
