The National Symphony Orchestra performed in the NIH Clinical Center Atrium as part of its Sound Health initiative
The National Symphony Orchestra performed in the NIH Clinical Center Atrium as part of its Sound Health initiative which brings orchestral music to area hospitals and medical centers. The performance was led by conductor Steven Reineke and included works by Vivaldi, Mozart, Copland, Mendelssohn, Ravel and others. It featured Carole Bean on piccolo and Matthew Guilford on bass trombone.

Rabbi David Shneyer (right) shared songs of healing from the Jewish tradition in a live musical presentation in the Main Chapel on the 7th Floor of the NIH Clinical Center. Clinical Center Chaplain Cantor Michael Zoosman joined Rabbi Shneyer on stage. This was the second concert in the five-year Sounds of the Spirit series titled "Sacred Musical Traditional of the World," which is sponsored and organized by the Clinical Center Spiritual Care department.
 

Several groups brought festive holiday cheer to the Atrium during the month of December. They included The University of Maryland Jazz Combo, the NIH Chamber Singers, the National Symphony Orchestra Horn Ensemble, the United States Public Health Service Music Ensemble, JewKvox, NIH Nerds in Harmony and the Capitol Hill Carolers.
