Dr. Lena Jumin Lee is a Nurse Scientist within the NIH Clinical Center TBHP and the head of the Biobehavioral Outcomes in Cancer and Caregiving (BOCC) Unit.

Dr. Lee received a PhD in Nursing from the University of Maryland, Baltimore, in 2015. She received a Master of Science in Nursing in 2010 and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2006, both from Kyunghee University in South Korea.
After her PhD program, Dr. Lee served as an Intramural Research Training Award (IRTA) Postdoctoral Fellow in the NIH Clinical Center Nursing Department from August of 2015 through May of 2019, when she accepted her current position. Dr. Lee’s research interests focus on four major areas: 1) psychosocial outcomes and biomarkers of stress and illness in family caregivers of individuals with cancer; 2) symptom management and symptom clusters in cancer and other chronic diseases, 3) latent variable modeling methodology, and 4) psychosocial outcomes and health behaviors among vulnerable and diverse populations.
Dr. Lee also serves as a mentor for post-baccalaureate and post-doctoral trainees to implement and monitor research protocols. She has presented her work in poster and oral formats at national research conferences. Dr. Lee is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society, the Oncology Nursing Society, the Society of Behavioral Medicine, and the American Public Health Association.
