Please join us for a special performance by Lucy Zhang on violin and Woobin Park on piano. Lucy Liuxuan Zhang is an impassioned violinist and mathematical physicist who has found tremendous inspiration and utility in balancing and pursuing her two careers.  She is currently employed by the University of Maryland to further her research in topological quantum computation and to explore the intersection between music and science, receiving multiple grants for her pioneering work on creating beautiful new music while sourcing inspirations from science, often from the frontiers of research, and in turn aiming to use this music to help enhance scientific communications, understanding and creativity in her audience and participants.Dr. Park serves as Director of Piano Studies and Associate Professor of Practice in Piano at Washington College, where she teaches applied lessons, class piano, and has developed a course in piano pedagogy and literature. This performance takes place in the NIH Clinical Center North Atrium.
