Dr. Afua Asante-Otoo enjoys treating patients off all ages to help them gain functional independence and improve their quality of life.

Dr. Asante-Otoo completed her Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital. She then went on to complete a Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine fellowship at New York University School of Medicine/Rusk Rehabilitation.
Dr. Asante-Otoo is a pediatric and adult physiatrist in the Rehabilitation Medicine Department at the NIH Clinical Center. She also spends time with the Neurorehabilitation & Biomechanics Research Section providing medical coverage for patients in the gait lab.
She is currently involved with research protocols involving patients with cerebral palsy, spina bifida, neuromuscular disorders, McCune Albright syndrome, Proteus syndrome, Type II GM 1 gangliosidosis, methalmalonic acidemia and the Undiagnosed Diseases Program.
