The NIH Clinical Center Recognizes Family Caregivers

2011 Caregiver Day

On November 8, 2011 the NIH Clinical Center hosted the 2nd Annual NIH Clinical Center Family Caregiver Day in celebration of National Family Caregiver Month.

This one day event was held in the Clinical Center (Building 10). Dr. Gary Epstein-Lubow presented “Strategic directions for assisting family caregivers in hospital settings."

An Informational Fair & Expo featured representatives from local and national caregiver resource organizations, an interactive art project, NIH campus nature walk, interactive sessions on mind-body techniques, walking meditation using the “Guided Labyrinth”, 30 minute relaxation chair sessions and NIH Patient Library, recreational, nutritional, social and mental health resources for family caregivers.
