a tired man

The National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) seeks individuals who are experiencing fatigue to join a research study. Researchers want to understand the specific types of fatigue and the causes that may trigger it. The study requires up to 10 outpatient visits to the NIH Clinical Center and each visit will take no more than 4 hours to complete. Participants will complete questionnaires, interviews, and computer and physical tasks. Some of the tasks can be completed at home. Participants will be asked to give blood, cheek swab, saliva, and urine samples. There is also an optional brain scan (i.e. fMRI).

You may be eligible if you:

  • are 18 years of age or older

You may NOT participate if you:

  • are not fluent in English
  • have an alcohol and/or substance use problem
  • are an NINR employee/staff or related to an NINR employee/staff member

All study related tests and procedures are provided at no cost to you. Compensation may be provided.
