Do You Think About Drinking Alcohol Morning, Noon, and Night?
Do you find yourself wanting alcohol regularly?
People with alcohol use disorder (AUD) have trouble controlling their drinking and alcohol cravings. There are medications that may help some people with AUD but not others. Researchers at the National Institute on Drug Abuse are conducting a study of an investigational drug for its ability to reduce alcohol cravings in people with AUD.
You may participate if you are:
- Age 18-70 years old
- Seeking treatment for AUD
- Not pregnant or breastfeeding
During the study, you will:
- Complete tasks on a computer
- Participate in a virtual reality experiment wearing a headset in a virtual setting
- Stay at the Johns Hopkins Bayview campus Clinical Research Unit for approximately 21 days
- Take an investigational drug or a placebo
- Be compensated for your participation
