Taste and Smell Differences in Obese Versus Non-Obese Individuals

Investigators at The National Institutes of Health are conducting a research study to understand taste and smell alterations and how they differ in obese versus non-obese individuals.

Study Design:

  • A total of three outpatient visits
    • One screening visit and two study visits
  • All study related tests provided at no charge

Volunteers Needed:

  • Between ages 18 to 65
  • Do not have Type 2 diabetes
  • Not pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Do not drink alcohol regularly
    • Seven drinks or more per week for women; 14 or more drinks per week for men
  • Do not currently smoke or use illegal substance
