The Laboratory of Clinical Infectious Diseases and the Laboratory of Host Defenses within NIAID’s Division of Intramural Research jointly sponsor a Primary Immune Deficiency (PID) Clinic. The PID clinic offers a broad array of both clinical expertise and in-depth laboratory diagnostic services that can be used to help pinpoint the potential cause(s) of a given patient’s unusual predisposition to recurrent or relapsing bacterial, viral, or opportunistic infections or other clinical manifestations suggesting aberrant immunologic control, as well as to suggest potential treatment options for these conditions.
