Study Investigating Language Development
Researchers at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland, seek toddlers
to participate in a research study investigating language development.
This study will help researchers learn about risk factors for autism by studying behaviors
and brain functioning of toddlers with typical development and those with early
communications delays. There is no cost to participate in this research study.
Compensation is provided.
Your child may be eligible if:
- he or she is 10-20 months of age
- he or she has a typical language development
- English is the only language spoken at home
Study Facts:
- three to four outpatient visits and two overnight stays at the NIH Clinical Center
- behavioral and language assessments
- follow-up visits every 6-12 months until the child is 3 years old
Location:
- the NIH Clinical Center, America's research hospital, is located on the Metro
red line (Medical Center stop) in Bethesda, Maryland.
