Do you have noninfectious uveitis?
The National Eye Institute at the National Institutes of Health Clinical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, is conducting a research study evaluating the effectiveness of using OptiquelTM versus a placebo to treat non-infectious uveitis in patients taking oral steroids. Participants will receive either the study drug or a placebo for 24 weeks and will be followed as outpatients for the next 28 weeks for a total of 52 weeks. All study-related tests, treatment, and medications are provided at no cost to you.
You may be eligible if you:
- are 18 years or older
- have been diagnosed with non-infectious uveitis
- are currently taking between 20-40 mg of prednisone, or an alternative, to treat non-infectious uveitis
You may not be eligible if you:
- are currently taking a corticosteroid to treat a condition other than non-infectious uveitis
- have had intra-ocular surgery within the past three months
