CROWN: From the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland, this is CLINICAL CENTER RADIO.
The Clinical Center held its 2nd annual Resident Research Career Day October 9, hoping to entice a new generation of clinicians to enter into academic careers with a focus on scientific research. It’s a unique opportunity, says Executive Director of Graduate Medical Education Dr. Robert Lembo, for residents to network with established investigators and learn more about training and career development resources available through the NIH Intramural Research Program. Nkiruka Emeagwali, a resident from Brown University School of Medicine, attended the event and says:
EMEAGWALI: I just wanted to see how to now merge my clinical experience in residency with a potential career in research. I think this is a good place to kind of do both, and do them well.
CROWN: The Office of Clinical Research Training and Medical Education organized the event in conjunction with the National Graduate Student Research Conference and the annual NIH Research Festival. Learn more about NIH training resources online at clinicalcenter.nih.gov/training
CROWN: From America's Clinical Research Hospital, this has been CLINICAL CENTER RADIO. In Bethesda, Maryland, I'm Ellen Crown, at the National Institutes of Health, an agency of the United States Department of Health and Human Services.
