NIH takes part in 'Celebration of Science'

NIH joined FasterCures and the Milken Institute's Center for Accelerating Medical Solutions to host on the campus an NIH Day Sept. 8, as part of the annual 3-day "Celebration of Science." The NIH Day featured presentations from scientists, patients, and caregivers on topics such as HIV/AIDS, neuroscience, rehabilitation medicine, and more. Policymakers and industry leaders also discussed the health and economic benefits of biomedical research.
Hundreds of attendees included HHS and NIH leadership, current and former elected officials, heads of government agencies, major philanthropists, leaders of academic research centers, patient advocacy groups, distinguished scientists, industry CEOs, and the local media.
