Greetings and welcome to NIH Clinical Center Grand Rounds, recorded December 15, 2010 at America's Clinical Research Hospital, the Clinical Center at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland, an agency of the United States Department of Health and Human Services. Today's Grand Rounds dwells within the realm of pharmacogenics. The first speaker is Dr. David A. Flockhart, Chief of the Division of Clinical Pharmacology in the Department of Medicine, and Professor of Medicine in the Medical Genetics and Pharmacology department at Indiana University School of Medicine. He will present, "Principles of Pharmacogenomics and Its Applications in Clinical Practices." Our second speaker, Dr. Shiew-Mei Huang is Deputy Director in the Office of Pharmacology at the US Food and Drug Administration. She will discuss, "Applications of Pharmacogenomics in Drug Development and Regulatory Review: Recent Relabeling of Drug Products."
