Recreational Therapy Calendar for OCTOBER 4-10, 2009

SCHMALFELDT:  From the Clinical Center at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland, this is your Recreation Therapy Update for the second week of October 2009.

On Monday, October 5th, the Recreation and Leisure Connection takes place in the 1st Floor Recreation Therapy Clinic Room from 1 to 3 p.m.  Then the Patient Fitness Center is open on the 7th Floor Recreation Therapy Exercise Room from 4 until 6 pm.

Tuesday, October 6th, you can make a fall paperweight in the 1st Floor Recreation Therapy Clinic Room from 10 am until noon.  Then enjoy a therapy dog visit, also in the 1st Floor Recreation Therapy Clinic Room from 10:45 until 11:45 a.m.  Come back to the 1st Floor Recreation Therapy Clinic Room from 1 until 3 for the Recreation and Leisure Connection.  Meanwhile, the Patient Fitness Center is open on the 7th Floor Recreation Therapy Exercise Room from 1 until 3, then from 4:30 until 6:30.

On Wednesday, October 7, the Patient Fitness Center is open on the 7th Floor Recreation Therapy Exercise Room from 10 until 11 a.m., then again from 1 until 3 and 4 until 6 p.m.  You can take part in the Wellness Program and experience "chair yoga" in the 1st Floor Recreation Therapy Clinic Room from 2 until 4.  And play Bingo in the 1st Floor Recreation Therapy Clinic Room starting at 6:30.

On Thursday, October 8, the Creative Workshop will help you make some nice luggage tags in the 1st Floor Recreation Therapy Clinic Room from 10 am until noon.  The Patient Fitness Center is open on the 7th Floor Recreation Therapy Exercise Room from 10 until 11 a.m., then again from 1 until 3 and 4 until 6 p.m.  The Recreation and Leisure Connection takes place in the 1st Floor Recreation Therapy Clinic Room from 1 to 3 p.m.  And it's Game Night in the 1st Floor Recreation Therapy Clinic Room from 6:30 until 8 p.m.

On Friday, October 9, the Patient Fitness Center is open on the 7th Floor Recreation Therapy Exercise Room from 10 until 11 a.m.

Then on Saturday, October 10, enjoy a trip to the Museum of Natural History at 1 p.m.  Call 301-496-2233 by 12:30 p.m. on Saturday to reserve your spot.  Then meet in the First Floor North Lobby at 12:55 p.m. with an NIH Photo ID and a doctor's pass.  And the Patient Fitness Center is open on the 7th Floor Recreation Therapy Exercise Room from 2 until 3 pm.
