SCHMALFELDT: From the Clinical Center at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland, this is your Recreation Therapy Update for the final week of October 2009.
Monday, October 26th, the Recreation and Leisure Connection is open for business in the First Floor Recreation Therapy Clinic Room from 1:30 until 3:30. The Patient Fitness Center is open on the 7th Floor Recreation Therapy Exercise Room from 4 until 6. And make plans to enjoy the Therapy Dog visit in the Piano Lobby on the 7th Floor at 7 p.m.
On Tuesday, October 27th, make a Halloween Witch Hat in the Creative Workshop in the First Floor Recreation Therapy Clinic Room from 10 until noon. The Recreation and Leisure Connection is open from 1 until 3 in the First Floor Recreation Therapy Clinic Room, and you'll have two opportunities to use the Patient Fitness Center on the 7th Floor Recreation Therapy Exercise Room -- 1 until 3 and 4:30 until 6:30.
On Wednesday, October 28th, you'll have THREE opportunities to work on your fitness in the 7th Floor Recreation Therapy Exercise Room -- from 10 until 11, then again from 1 until 3 and 4 until 6. Brain fitness is the topic of the day in the Wellness Program in the First Floor Recreation Therapy Clinic Room from 2 until 4. And come back for Bingo at 6:30.
On Thursday, October 29th, you can make a lovely fall plate in the Creative Workshop in the First Floor Recreation Therapy Clinic Room from 10 until noon. Again, you'll have THREE opportunities to work on your fitness in the 7th Floor Recreation Therapy Exercise Room -- from 10 until 11, then again from 1 until 3 and 4 until 6. The Recreation and Leisure Connection is open in the First Floor Recreation Therapy Clinic Room from 1 until 3. And there's a Halloween Party in the First Floor CRC Patio Open Area at 5:30. It's behind the CRC Pharmacy, down the hall between the Pharmacy and Patient Unit 1 SouthEast. Turn right behind the pharmacy to get to the open area.
On Friday, October 30th, the Patient Fitness Center is open on the 7th Floor Recreation Therapy Exercise Room from 10 until 11.
And you can wrap up the month on Saturday, October 31st, with a D.C. Bus Tour at 1 p.m. Call 301-496-2233 by 12:30 on Saturday to reserve your spot, then meet in the First Floor North Lobby at 12:55 p.m. with an NIH photo ID and a doctor's pass. And the Patient Fitness Center is open on the 7th Floor Recreation Therapy Exercise Room from 2 until 3 p.m.
