I push the limits of quilting - plain and simple. I enjoy quilts of all kinds, but have been drawn to art quilts as a means of play and possibility. My "quilts" feature multiple layers and pop-up structures. I have incorporated hinges so that quilted panels can swing free and change the shape and dimension of the piece. I have never been able to sit still long enough to do just one thing repeatedly and have long been plagued with the "what ifs" and "why nots". Although this childlike curiosity sometimes gets me into trouble, it also provides endless hours of enjoyment. Add to that the use of paints, found objects and recycled clothing and my studio becomes a creative laboratory. My hope is to share with you the same sense of wonder that I enjoy so much or at least make you smile | ||
