Goals

Candidates for the NIH Dietetic Internship Progam must meet the following requirements:

  1. Successful completion or anticipated completion of an American Dietetic Association accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics.

  2. Submit an original American Dietetic Association Verification Statement signed by your academic program director.

  3. Provide official transcripts from all universities that you have attended.

  4. Submit a completed application packet for the NIH Dietetic Internship.

  5. A Bachelor’s degree or higher level degree in nutrition, dietetics, or health related field.

International students wishing to apply must follow procedures set forth by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE) for international students. The application form for an ADA approved dietetic internship is available from the ADA Practice Group: Dietetics Educators of Practitioners (DEP). The forms can be completed on-line and downloaded from DEP’s website at http://www.depdpg.org.
