Dr. Harvey Alter Emergency department use among adults with disabilities
Dr. Harvey Alter, of the National Institutes of Health's Clinical Center, and two research colleagues recently received the Canada Gairdner International Award for "their critical contributions to the discovery and isolation of the hepatitis C virus, which has led to the development of new diagnostic and therapeutic agents." Dr. Alter describes his groundbreaking research. Collaborative Research at the NIH Clinical Center Clinical Center hosts first hand hygiene awareness day
The Clinical Center has launched a new website that illustrates the hospital's special research resources and outlines the next steps for extramural researchers interested in working with NIH intramural investigators. The NIH Clinical Center hosted its first Hand Hygiene Awareness day on May 23, 2012. The event was designed to educate and emphasize the proper use of hand washing and hand sanitizer, which can be found throughout the hospital. Use two pumps of sanitizer and rub thoroughly for 20 seconds.
