1. Overview

This is the place to get the latest version of the Acrobat Reader.    Dowloadable versions will be posted here for the Win95, WinNT and the macintosh operating systems.  The free Adobe(R) Acrobat(R) Reader allows you to view, navigate, and print PDF files across all major computing platforms. Acrobat Reader is the free viewing companion to Adobe Acrobat 3.0 and to Acrobat Capture(R) software.

3. Installation

    For Windows 95 & NT

1. Download the Acrobat 3.01 Reader installer application. You may need to use the "Save Next Link As..." or "Save to Disk" functions of your Web browser.
2. Download the Acrobat Installer File ( above)
3. Quit your Web browser.
4. Run "ar32e301.exe"
5. Follow the instructions on your screen.

    For Windows 3.1

1. Download the Acrobat 3.01 Reader installer application. You may need to use the "Save Next Link As..." or "Save to Disk" functions of your Web browser.
2. Download the Acrobat Installer File ( above)
3. Quit your Web browser.
4. Run "ar16e301.exe"
5. Follow the instructions on your screen.

    For Macintosh

1. Download the Acrobat Reader Installer application. You may need to use the "Save Next Link As..." or "Save to Disk" functions of your Web browser.
2. Quit your Web browser.
3. The file you download will be expanded to the self-extracting archive "Reader 3.01Installer ". If your Web browser isn't configured to automatically launch an application such as StuffIt Expander(TM) to expand .hqx or .bin files (which is available as a freeware product and is distributed with Netscape(TM) Navigator(TM) 3.0 or later ), you'll need to manually launch an application to expand the downloaded file to produce Reader 3.01 Installer.
4. Double-click the file "Reader 3.01Installer ". (Note: This will cause all current Mac applications to quit.)
5. Follow the instructions on your screen.

If there is a failure at any point during the installation of Acrobat Reader 3.01, the installer performs a complete uninstall. For this reason, it is important not to close the installer application by clicking its close box in the upper right corner of the background window after clicking the "Thank You" dialog box that appears at the end of the installation. If you wait for a second or two, the installer will automatically close the background windows after the installation is complete.

The installation procedure will ask you to read and accept the Electronic End-User License Agreement.
