Jeff Bulte, MD

Dr. Jeff W.M. Bulte is a Staff Scientist in the Laboratory of Diagnostic Radiology Research (LDRR). In 1991, Dr. Bulte received his doctorate in medicine (cum laude) from the University of Groningen, The Netherlands, where he did research on dextran-magnetite particles as a new MR contrast agent. Dr. Bulte joined LDRR in 1992. He has authored or co-authored over 35 manuscripts and book chapters and is a member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine, and the Society of Nuclear Imaging in Drug Development.

Dr. Bulte's current research interests include development and in vivo testing of novel magnetopharmaceuticals with molecular and/or cellular targets; magnetoimmunodetection of (transfected) gene expression; and variable-field T1 and T2 relaxometry and theory of underlying relaxation mechanisms.
