Agenda

Immunohematology & Blood Transfusion Symposium

Objectives:

At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to explain how stem cells are able to be used for cardiac repair. Participants will be able to recognize agents that are transfusion transmissible from a list of infectious agents.

Transfusion medicine personnel will apply information gained to choose the continuance or cessation of rare blood following medical interventions.

Several current protocols to reduce the incidence of TRALI reactions will be reviewed that will allow participants to become familiar with literature and current practices and will, in turn, help them make decisions regarding blood component therapy.

Target Audience:

This program will be of interest to all healthcare providers who participate in the collection, production, transfusion and monitoring of blood products.
