Biosketch
Dr. Folio is a radiologist in Body Imaging and lead radiologist for Computed Tomography at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, MD. He is also a Clinical Professor (adjunct), George Washington University Hospital.
Dr. Folio has four medical specialties; in addition to radiology, he trained and practiced in Occupational, Preventive and Aerospace Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American Osteopathic College of Radiology.
Dr. Folio retired from the Air Force as a Colonel in the summer of 2009. His latest assignments included Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Uniformed Services University and the Pentagon. While in the military, he deployed to hospitals in the Middle East including Iraq. His book "Combat Radiology Imaging of Blast and Ballistic Injuries" is based on his military experiences while treating wounded warriors. Dr. Folio has chaired (and presented) several trauma conferences both nationally and internationally.
He has over 60 publications in peer reviewed journals and six books with his latest book titled "Chest Imaging, an Algorithmic Approach" was published in November 2011.
