Portrait of Aradhana Venkatesan

Biosketch

Dr. Venkatesan earned her medical degree from Harvard Medical School. She also holds dual undergraduate degrees in Biology and English Literature from Swarthmore College. Her training includes two fellowships, one in Abdominal Imaging and Interventional Radiology and one in Musculoskeletal Imaging, both from Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Venkatesan also completed her residency at Massachusetts General Hospital, where she served as Chief Resident.

She maintains a full clinical schedule, with her clinical duties being divided between the Diagnostic Body Imaging section and the Interventional Radiology section, where she specializes in non-vascular interventions.

Dr. Venkatesan’s clinical research activities include the optimization of interventional oncology techniques, including minimally invasive methods of tumor ablation and the use of electromagnetic needle tracking and multi-modality image fusion to facilitate percutaneous interventions. Her clinical interests also include improving the specificity of diagnostic oncologic imaging, and the potential relationships between imaging features and specific genomic and proteomic abnormalities in cancer cohorts.

Dr. Venkatesan is Board Certified by the American Board of Radiology. She is a member of the Radiological Society of North America, the Society for Interventional Radiology, the Sigma Xi Scientific Research Society, the American College of Radiology and the American Association of Women Radiologists.
