About Pediatric Psychiatry Consultation Services
Pediatric Psychiatry Consultation is available for psychiatric evaluation of children and adolescents participating in research protocols in the Clinical Center. Consultations are available for inpatients and outpatients.

How to Request a Consultation
To request a routine pediatric psychiatry consultation during daytime hours, call the Psychiatry Consultation Service at (301) 496-9675 and enter a consultation request in CRIS.
For an emergency consultation, call the operator at (301) 496-1211 and ask for the Psychiatry Officer of the Day, tell the operator it is a psychiatric emergency, and enter a consultation request in CRIS.
Notify the patient and their family that you have requested psychiatric consultation.

Pediatric Consultation Staff
Dr. Maryland Pao is Clinical Director in the NIMH Office of the Clinical Director and Chief of the Psychiatry Consultation Liaison Service. She is board certified in general and child and adolescent psychiatry, pediatrics and psychosomatic medicine. She completed her pediatric and general psychiatry residencies and fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at Johns Hopkins Hospital. She has been the Director of Pediatric Consultation Liaison Services at Johns Hopkins Children’s Center and Children’s National Medical Center. She joined the Clinical Center in September 2002.
Dr. Lisa Horowitz is a pediatric psychologist / staff scientist in the NIMH Office of the Clinical Director. She is trained as both a licensed psychologist and a pediatric health services researcher, who trained at Children’s Hospital Boston and the Harvard School of Public Health. She joined the Psychiatry Consult Liaison Service at the Clinical Center in October 2006.
Dr. Suad Kapetanovic is an Associate Clinical Director in the NIMH Office of the Clinical Director. He completed his general psychiatry residency and fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at University of Utah Health Sciences Center. He has been on faculty at the University of Southern California Department of Psychiatry since November 2004. He joined the Clinical Center in August 2010.

Neuropsychological Assessment
Dr. Joseph Snow is a staff scientist and clinical neuropsychologist in the NIMH Office of the Clinical Director. He obtained a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from UMBC and completed a 1-year internship and 2-year postdoctoral fellowship in clinical neuropsychology at the East Orange VA Hospital and University of Michigan, respectively. He is a licensed psychologist and has achieved board certification from the American Board of Clinical Neuropsychology. He has worked at the NIH since 2001 and joined the NIMH office of the Clinical Director and Psychiatry Consult Liaison Service in 2009.
