About Clinical Nutrition Services
Clinical Nutrition Services of the CC Nutrition Department provide nutrition screening, assessment, intervention, and counseling for inpatients and outpatients.
Registered dietitians with specialized training in pediatric nutrition, nutrition support, and diabetes are available.
Dietitians also provide nutrition research services such as body composition analysis, dietary assessment, and metabolic diets for patients enrolled in protocols with nutrition components.

Consulting a Registered Dietitian
Dietitians may be consulted through the CRIS system by selecting nutrition under orders, and then selecting Nutrition consult (clinical) or Nutrition consult (research). Instructions for consulting the dietitian are included in the screen. The Clinical Nutrition Service office number is (301) 496-3311.
Dietitians are available 7 days a week. If you need a dietitian on weekends or after hours, call the page operator (301-496-1211) to page the dietitian on call.

Nutrition Resources
- The Clinical Center Diet Manual is available on-line. This manual contains information on the diets offered at the Clinical Center as well as a listing of the enteral and infant formulas available. Please contact a dietitian to order formulas not listed.
- The Clinical Center Nutrition Support Handbook provides information on TPN and enteral feeding, including guidelines for pediatric patients.
