Purpose/Goal: Supporting an inclusive and diverse work environment is essential to workforce retention and to meeting
the challenge of bridging health disparities. By joining Worklife Quality and Diversity efforts, this council will provide an infrastructure for dialogue between employees to develop ideas and activities that promote an inclusive workforce. The Worklife Quality and Diversity Council will develop recommendations that foster a work environment respectful of the shared and unique needs of the individual. Moreover, it will provide opportunities for all employees to develop their full potential in pursuit of the Clinical Center mission.
Scope: The council will provide the CC Director and executive management with recommendations that promote management and employee appreciation and advocacy for diversity and quality worklife tenets.
Resources: Total Estimated Costs: $10,000
Outsourcing for education and development of council members on the subjects of Diversity and
Quality of Worklife.
Timeline: First Council Meeting with reconfigured membership November, 2000
Council Education Retreat December, 2000
Outcomes: Enhanced CC-wide awareness and appreciation of diversity and QWI options
Increased CC employee effectiveness and efficiency
