Description

Recognizing the need for uniformly well-trained physicians in the discipline of clinical investigation, the CC has implemented an introductory course in clinical research. The course provides an opportunity for formal training in clinical research in order to attract and retain excellent clinical investigators.

Four module curriculum covering the following topics:

  • Epidemiologic Methods
  • Ethical Issues and Regulation of Human Subjects Research
  • Monitoring Patient-Oriented Research
  • Preparing and Funding a Clinical Research Study

Accomplishments-to-Date

  • Course website developed with on-line registration
  • Videoconferencing provided to Georgetown University and locations in Arizona, Montana, and North Carolina. There is continued interest from various organizations in receiving the broadcast of the course and/or videotapes
  • Growth in average attendance:

    April - June 1995 =14 (course pilot)

    1995-1996 = 84

    1996-1997 = 115

    1997-1998 = 130

FY2000 Goals
